Paulos Yohannes, M.D.
Paulos Yohannes, M.D. received his medical degree from the University of Louisville, School of Medicine and then completed his general surgery and urology residency training at the University of Kentucky (Chandler Medical Center) and University of Louisville Hospital. He went on to complete a fellowship in Endourology/Laparoscopy from Long Island Jewish Medical Center where he specialized in minimally invasive endourologic and laparoscopic surgery, as well as reconstructive surgery of the lower urinary tract. Dr. Yohannes has extensive experience in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery in the management of stone disease, testicular, renal and prostate cancer; percutaneous management of renal cancer, ureteropelvic junction obstruction and renal stones pediatric urology.

Dr. Yohannes is one of the pioneers of Robotic surgery in the United States having performed the first robotic cystectomy in the U.S.A. He is a reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals and has proctored many surgeons around the country on their first robotic prostatectomy, including UNMC, Creighton University, Harvard University, and University of West Virginia. He has won numerous awards including an academic essay competition, the William Brohm Award, Pfizer scholar in urology award, Kentucky Urologic Society Pyelogram Award, June Clymer Scholar, and honorary chairman of the physicians’ advisory board for the National Republican Congressional Committee.
